On the highest leaves of the Passion-Flower vine, there sat comfortably two nest of eggs. Their shiny round shells gleamed in the sunlight as the rays kissed them in warmth. From one of the nest, came out only a single tiny larva. As she started hungrily munching on the leaves, she couldn't help but feel a bit lonely. Soon enough, the eggs of the other set hatched. Of the handful of larvae that came out, one was somehow drawn to this lonely larva from the other set. Together they found the best and juiciest leaves to eat, and the most sun-kissed branches to sleep on.
As time took it's flow, this couple grew fat and big.
One day, the second larva found that the first one has hung herself up with a thread and carefully spinning away a thick mesh all around her! He tried to stop her to know what the matter was, but before he could even utter a word, she was lost within her cocoon. Within a day or two, the second larva spun his cocoon too and hung on a nearby branch.
From the first cocoon came out a butterfly, who waited to dry it's huge blue wings before flying off. From the second, came out a moth, dull and gray. Looking at the butterfly, he felt so awkward, that he didn't dare mention their past friendship and flew off alone.
In a flurry of seconds, he found the blue wings beating solemnly beside his gray ones.
Smiles glittered in four thousand eyes.
