Godforsaken

She knew she was unwanted. She was old, yellowed and wrinkled all over. But, she couldn't think of how she might leave this place.
The Quran sat fat, at the darkest edge of the bookshelf, reminiscing about her youthful days.

She could see, through the spiderwebs that covered her thickly, how happy the two women were, with their newborn daughter.
The world certainly looked happier without a God.
