Kittens

As his mother licked away the sleep from his eyes, he suddenly remembered her last night's promise. Completely awakened in a jolt, he quickly stretched out of the fluffy warmth of her lap.
The box in which they stayed was dark, but it came alive with all the stories that she purred to him every night.
He couldn't wait to walk out of the box on his wobbly feet to gobble up all that's out there with his fresh blue eyes!

It wasn't late before he was surprised. He found himself out of the box and in a place that he had never heard of in the stories. There were lot of movement all around, but no one seemed to notice him.

2.
Their peace at getting rid of the kitten was short lived.
The cat threw an inconsolable ruckus when she couldn't give her son his first taste of a rat.

Blogger's Note: If a cat has given birth in your household, please do not throw away her kitten(s). Once they grow up and become capable, they leave on their own. And, for a change, instead of throwing away your daily remnants of food, why not give it to her?
Try for once? I don't think you will regret.
