She hated how the two of them sat looking at each other. It seemed as if they could feel each other through their eyes; one sitting atop that old brick wall and the other primly peeking from her window.
She didn't quite understand what was this love that the girls kept talking about. All she could see was that each one got pregnant with a litter of tiny shrieking kittens every 4-6 moons.
Unable to bear anymore of that public purring and obscene tail wagging, she walked into the house with an air of parvenu around her gently sweeping torso. The winter chill was catching on and the cold floor almost stung her pretty pink paws.
The Dog was out for his daily exercise. Stealing this opportunity, she snugly settled on his mattress in the veranda, in a tidy figure of eight. She could never get enough of his smell. She wondered how this strange warmth still stuck on his mattress even when he was gone. She wished all her day that he would take a bit more notice of her, but believed that it was a sign from his end that he never chased her, unlike all other feline.
A soft tinkle in the gate reminded her of his return as she reflexively jumped out of her sit, while her heart skipped a beat.
Sitting on a nearby window sill, she devotedly imagined what his thoughts might be, while sniffing her smell off his mattress.
