The sun was about to come out in it's bright red glory when the usual flutter of unaccustomed wings filled the air atop the sultry Palm. The young ones were yet to get a good grip of how to float themselves steadily.
On the other days, he would be there, with his father, teaching them the essential tactics of flying, but today was a happy difference. As he hopped around a bit, looking for the strongest pieces of twigs, he couldn't help but remember his first flight. He was scared to death, and yet, too excited to care about it. The others were coming out to get their twigs too, before the sweepers arrived. Quickly gathering his lot, he flew off to the place they had chosen together, a few days back. On that shadowy nook of the fat Mango tree, he found her busily arranging the older twigs. Hurriedly laying down his load, he flew off.
Though confused by his sudden indifference, she kept on with the intricate engineering, trying not to be too bothered. As she finished putting up the sticks, something blue stuck out from below the pile. Two shards of thick blue glass, she realized in an utter amazement!
"For the windows", he cawed, as he flew in from the nearby perch with a glitter in his eyes.
