Ephemeral

She didn't remember the first time she had watched a movie.
The earliest memory she could pick out from the ever-growing maze of synapses in her brain was of the times when her mother and her elder sister used to watch movies late at night on their 16" black and white TV, while she was forced to go to bed.

Movies never got to play much important a role in her life till she fell in love with a guy whose life was centered around them. When he finally left her, he left behind 48 gigabytes of moving scenes of varied sorts and tastes.

They gobbled her in,drowning her deep into worlds that were never made to last for longer than a few hours.

They acted like potions. They hugged her, caressed her, made her cry, wiped away her tears, gave her stitches in her stomach, made her fall in love over and over again.
They gave her hope, they curbed her fear.
She learnt to live.

In worlds that were never meant to last.
