Sailors

Silence reigned.
The only sound that filled the room was of the two clocks.

She loved collecting clocks.

As the night fell asleep with her head cradled on her lap, the clock hands ticked on, in a tireless harmony.
Their sound was just like the pair of oars on an wooden boat, lapping gently yet forcefully through the currents.

Time sailed through yet another night.
